Leicester City have yet to recover from their points-deduction dilemma and are now struck by a fresh INJURY BLOW as a Foxes STAR is set to undergo surgery.

Leicester City’s Jannik Vestergaard is expected to be sidelined for at least a month, according to Bold in Denmark.

The Denmark international has featured just three times since the league loss to Queens Park Rangers on December 20th, with injury issues limiting his involvement in recent weeks.
The 33-year-old’s fitness has become a growing concern for Denmark ahead of the World Cup play-off clash against North Macedonia on March 26th.
Surgery for Leicester City and Denmark defender
Bold now report that the defender’s injury has developed into a ‘new, serious problem’ for the national side. At present, he is considered to have only a slim chance of being included in Brian Riemer’s squad next month.
This is because the Leicester City player is scheduled to undergo surgery. According to the report, the Dane is likely to be ruled out for four to six weeks, making it extremely challenging for him to regain fitness in time to face North Macedonia.
Bold describe this development as a ‘new shock for Riemer’, given that the Foxes defender plays a crucial role in Denmark’s back line.
For context, Vestergaard featured in 24 of his country’s last 26 matches. He was an unused substitute during Denmark’s World Cup qualifiers against Scotland [draw] and Greece [3-0 win] in September.
Vestergaard’s absence would also represent a setback for Leicester City, who have endured a difficult run in the Championship. The Foxes have been handed a points deduction and currently sit 21st in the standings, level on points with 22nd-placed Blackburn Rovers.
