BREAKING — Spurs Circle LEICESTER TARGET as Sack Pressure Mounts, Axe Rumours Intensify and Frank’s Future Hangs in Doubt”

Leicester City facing possible Spurs challenge after Thomas Frank dismissal decision
Gareth Southgate is reportedly admired internally at Tottenham Hotspur as a possible successor to Thomas Frank amid links to Leicester City.

A 2-1 home defeat to Newcastle United ultimately proved the tipping point for the Premier League outfit in what has been a disappointing domestic season to date.

Frank assumed control at Spurs during the summer, replacing Ange Postecoglou, but he has already been relieved of his duties, with the side currently 16th in the top-flight standings.

No immediate successor has been confirmed, and it may be some time before a final call is made regarding a permanent appointment.

Tottenham Hotspur’s Gareth Southgate interest amid Leicester City report

Tottenham are said to be keen on Southgate following their choice to part company with Frank.
It emerged earlier this week that the former England boss is under consideration to take charge at Leicester amid their pursuit of a new head coach, although they face rival interest from Crystal Palace.
However, Spurs have now joined the running to secure the 55-year-old, who has been without a managerial role since the end of the 2024 European Championship.

Southgate led England to the final of the tournament in Germany but suffered a 2-1 defeat to Spain, marking their second consecutive loss at that stage.
It is believed that Spurs value his composure and player-management skills, viewing him as a credible candidate to lead the senior squad.

However, it is still unclear whether he is prepared to return to coaching, with his last club position coming at Middlesbrough in 2009.
Leicester currently sit 21st in the Championship table and endured an embarrassing setback of their own on Tuesday evening, losing 4-3 at home to Southampton.

Gareth Southgate appointment appearing too ambitious for Leicester
If Southgate is contemplating a return to management, then these Premier League opportunities appear considerably more appealing at present.

Not only are the Foxes competing in the Championship, but they are also faltering, and their recent form even raises the possibility of dropping into League One next season.

The 4-3 defeat to the Saints encapsulated the club’s current struggles, as they squandered a commanding 3-0 advantage to leave the match empty-handed.

It is hard to envision Southgate stepping into the role at the King Power Stadium at this stage — assuming he is even open to resuming his managerial career.
Should he decide to do so, however, a job in the second tier may feel somewhat below his stature.
