Leicester City have endured a dreadful campaign but one of the rare positives has been winger Abdul Fatawu.

However, according to the data, Leicester City may struggle to command a figure matching Sunderland’s proposal. FootballTransfers’ figures indicate that Fatawu is valued at €21m, which equates to roughly £18.2m.
His valuation makes him Leicester City’s most valuable asset, ahead of players such as Jeremy Monga and Jordan James. Jaden Philogene is rated slightly below Fatawu, who trails only Southampton’s Taylor Harwood-Bellis in FootballTransfers Championship rankings.
Fatawu is far too good for the Championship
Leicester City secured Ghanaian winger Abdul Fatawu on loan from Sporting CP in the summer of 2023, and he swiftly became a supporter favourite. He played a crucial role in the Foxes’ 2023/24 Championship title-winning campaign, cementing his reputation as one of the division’s most threatening attacking talents.
That outstanding campaign earned him a permanent switch to the King Power Stadium, but his introduction to Premier League football was abruptly halted. Despite providing two assists in 11 appearances, Fatawu sustained an ACL injury in November that sidelined him for the rest of the season.
Now fully recovered and catching the eye throughout pre-season, Fatawu appears poised to demonstrate his ability once again, and so far this term, he has produced the goods and then some.
The Ghana international has comfortably been Leicester’s top performer, with the Foxes significantly stronger when he features. Should they lose him in January, adequately replacing his influence would prove extremely difficult.
