JibrinAiyawatt ‘Top’ Srivaddhanaprabha feels the bond between Leicester City’s squad and supporters has been reinforced following the arrival of Gary Rowett.
Writing in his programme notes ahead of Saturday’s showdown with Norwich City, the Foxes chairman has underlined the progress City have made since Rowett was appointed less than two weeks ago – crucial to what he admits is a ‘fight for survival’.
City head into today’s contest on the back of two stalemates under Rowett but still rooted in the relegation zone with a dozen matches remaining.
On a day when there are organised demonstrations against King Power’s stewardship of the club, the chairman wrote: “Between now and the end of the season Gary will bring deep knowledge of the Championship to our team and strong experience of the situation we now face in these final 12 games – a fight for survival in the division.
“As one Club, our collective focus is on providing every support possible to Gary, the staff and players to help find the solutions we need.
“Gary’s positive impact on the squad has already been visible in his first two games – challenging trips to Stoke City and Middlesbrough that have seen much improved performances and two hard-earned points.
“Those improvements have also strengthened the vital connection between our players and our fans, whose support is always so strong on the road.
“Thank you to everyone that made the trips to Stoke and to Middlesbrough, I’m looking forward to seeing how the team can build on those improvements in front of our home fans today, which can give energy to the whole stadium.”
