NEW DEAL SIGNED! Foxes tie up promising youngster with one HOPE: that he emulates hero Nelson. But will the weight of that expectation lift him up or CRUSH him?

Promising Leicester City centre-half Kevon Gray has signed a new three-year contract at the club.

Gray, who has been with the club since he was eight, is one of the brightest talents emerging through the ranks at City and has been rewarded with a deal that shows the club’s belief in him.

While the 19-year-old is yet to make his senior debut, he has been on the bench five times this term, demonstrating that he’s the youngster that City would turn to if the club were short of senior centre-backs.

At Under-21 level, Gray has featured 23 times this season, captaining the development squad on occasion and even contributing two goals and three assists.

His physique makes him a commanding presence at the back and in the air, while he’s shown considerable potential with his technical skills as well.

City will hope that his progress continues over the coming years and that he can follow in the footsteps of Ben Nelson by graduating from the youth ranks into the first team’s backline.
