CONFIRMED: PLAYOFF PREPARATION UNLOCKED?! 😱 Fans Will Be BUZZING After Stars SENSATIONALLY Resurface from Treatment Room – Just in Time to SAVE the Season! Wait Until You See What Rowett Said NEXT!

Patience will be required for the matchday returns of Aaron Ramsey and Harry Souttar despite their comeback to training, Leicester City manager Gary Rowett has confirmed.

Attacking midfielder Ramsey was spotted back on the grass at Seagrave this week and Rowett has revealed that centre-back Souttar has now joined him.

Ramsey has not featured since the final fixture of 2025, when he tore his hamstring just four minutes after entering the fray as a substitute in City’s victory over Derby. It was merely his third appearance back after a two-month layoff.

Souttar, meanwhile, has not played for 15 months. He spent a year recovering from an Achilles rupture, but then required minor surgery on a knee issue in January.

Rowett has indicated that they won’t be appearing in his squad anytime soon.

The manager said after the 2-0 win over Bristol City: “I think Rammo and Harry Souttar, with those players, they’ve been out for a while and we have to be careful. Of course, I want to get everybody back in. You saw the bench, it looks a lot stronger. It gives me a lot better options. I spoke about that in game one.

“They’re terrific players and if we can get them back, fantastic. But I think the important thing is that when they eventually come back, they get a chance to stay back. So we might have to be careful.”

With Ramsey and Souttar back in training, that leaves just three City players currently sidelined: Asmir Begovic, Jannik Vestergaard and Victor Kristiansen.

The increase in the number of available players saw midfielder Louis Page rejoin the Under-21s this week. He started in a 2-2 draw with Newcastle on Monday.

Full-back Bade Aluko, who had been included in the City matchday squad for all of the previous 18 Championship fixtures, was also omitted from the group against Bristol City.
