JibrinGary Rowett is encouraging his Leicester City players to hold each other accountable after Abdul Fatawu frustrated his team-mates in the 1-1 draw with Ipswich.
Rowett wants his squad to keep each other responsible and so had no qualms with Harry Winks showing his irritation towards the winger.
In one of only two second-half shots City had, Fatawu tried to score from his own half, just as he did in the home game against Ipswich, but this time his effort was closer to the corner flag.
It meant City relinquished possession cheaply in a half in which they struggled to keep the ball and free themselves of the Ipswich pressure.
“Abdul had to work incredibly hard defensively with Leif Davis and that takes a bit of energy,” manager Rowett said.
“He got the ball back and tried the shot, thinking about the previous game when he scored from 70 yards out. At that point, Winksy wants him to keep the ball, that’s fine.
“We’ve got to hold each other more accountable. The players have to demand more from each other.
“I’ve seen that in the group over the last two weeks and it’s something we’ve encouraged. I have no problem with that as long as it’s done in the right way.”
Rowett will hope the squad continue to drive standards with each other as they head into a key run of fixtures.
City are winless in 10 but have three games over the next fortnight all against mid-table sides who are struggling for form.
They begin that run at home to Bristol City on Tuesday night, with QPR visiting the King Power Stadium next weekend. Then there’s a trip to Watford before the March international break.
